Owning identity on decentralized networks is the best way for anyone to actually own their identity online.
Identity on centralized networks such as FB, Tw, Google, etc are farmed for profits & you lose privacy. Identity on the blockchain is safest. Right now there are many decentralized identity solutions out there but none have been able to have a breakthrough.
I believe, identity cannot be isolated from usability.
A blockchain product that offers some use case with identity being a side effect of that use case will win. We have to learn from social networks. They did not start with identity. They allowed you to meet people online.
Identity was a byproduct of that product.
